M. L. Lacy Bio

M. L. Lacy

Born and raised in Central Indiana, M. L. Lacy settled in Texas during the late 1990s. A military spouse for twenty years, her travels allowed her to experience and enjoy her passion for the Rocky Mountains and the American West. Those encounters are reflected in her stories. Her Chrysalis series began in 2009 with the release of her first novel, Chrysalis – The Awakening (winner of the RebeccaReads 2010 Written Art Award – Science Fiction/Fantasy category), and was followed by Book Two: Chrysalis – Tribulations, in 2010. M.L Lacy’s vivid imagination allows her to create fictional worlds that push established storytelling boundaries. She and her husband, Michael, are the parents of two sons, Christopher and Brent, and the proud grandparents of three lovely granddaughters.

Firstborn’s Destiny – Scheduled release date: April 2012

All that Kelsey had thought to be true her entire life, shattered upon hearing her grandmother’s deathbed confession; her parents had not died in a fire when she was three.

Along with a box of letters and cards sent to her grandparents when she was a child, her grandmother shared the awful truth that, although her parents, had planned to return for her, they never did. For reasons unknown, her mother’s family would never accept her, and there was someone who wanted her dead. Having promised to never remove it, the necklace she wears is the only thing protecting her.

Chrysalis – The Awakening

Chrysalis – The Awakening is now available on e-Book through Amazon, Barnes and Noble and all other on-line e-Book sites. I am excited about this saga and I hope you will travel with me as the story unfolds.

Chapter 1

Europe late 400’s

Samuel Woodburn stood quietly in front of the slate board and studied the scroll he held against the symbols drawn on the board. His brow creased in a concern manner as he stepped toward the board and transferred the part of the scroll he held in his right hand to his left, picked up the dust cloth and wiped a small portion off one of the symbols. He stepped back, opened the scroll again, and reviewed the correction.

Firstborn’s Destiny

While taking a break from the Chrysalis series, I have started a new one. Yes, yes, I know. Taking a break means moving away from the computer and relaxing, but that’s not how I roll. Book 1 of my new series is nearing completion and I will post the first chapter in January. Here is a small teaser for your enjoyment.

Chrysalis Trepidation

Here is a little more of chapter 1.

Another sensation struck her senses, but this time she smiled and turned to her right and awaited his greeting.

“Odessa,” his velvet-smooth voice called to her as he stepped out of the opening of the space in front of her. “You’re looking well.”

“Robert,” she held her arms for the hug she knew she would receive.  “Thank you. You’re looking well, too. Celeste, how are you?” Odessa said as a short, plump woman stepped out right after him.

Trepidations

Chapter 1
Hall of Elders
Odessa stood in front of the centuries-old sycamore tree waiting for her companions to arrive. She pulled the hood of the gray robe she wore lower over her face and then blew on her fingertips to warm them. Winter had come to the ancient forest and the air’s chill was biting.
